Another great Thursday, but when will Camilo Villegas close?

In two stroke play events this season on the PGA Tour, Camilo Villegas is 14-under par on Thursdays. For what it's worth, Villegas might be the hottest player on the PGA Tour, missing a short putt at Accenture to make the finals and finding himself in the hunt over the weekend at the Waste Management.

It was the weekend that did him in there. Two rounds of even par on a course like TPC Scottsdale isn't going to cut it, but Villegas continues to come out of gates like Secretariat. Thursday at the Honda Classic, Villegas was once again solid, carding a 4-under 66 that included five birdies after an opening bogey on his first hole.

The hot start is nice, but Villegas knows that it means nothing without a good weekend, which raises the question -- can Camilo finish golf tournaments? Take away a hot streak in September of 2008, when he won two tournaments, and Villegas doesn't have any wins. He didn't take home a title in 2009 and he has looked shaky this season. He's been in position, which is always what you want, but to finish is a whole other thing.

Villegas admitted in Scottsdale that you get to a point where you have to force yourself to focus on golf, the thing that got you there, but with the sudden fame that came with his burst on the PGA Tour, it is very questionable when we will see him hoist another trophy.

Does he have the game to take down a course like PGA National? Absolutely, tee to green he's as talented as anyone out there. Does he have the ability to block everything else and just golf his ball? That is still to be determined.
